This university module required us to reach out to designers of our choice or source interviews from them and discuss a contrast between them and why that interests us as individual designers.
I chose to look at type designers in the UK and the USA as this is a field I’m interested in and I’d love to work in both places. I wasn’t able to reach out to designers but I sourced interviews from both Tobias Frere-Jones in the USA and Jonathan Barnbrook in the UK.
We had to design a publication to present our interviews in whatever style we wanted and something that fit what we aesthetically enjoyed.
As a mini task during this module we were given an interview and had to play around with the type layout in 2 pages as experimentation. I had an interview with Studio Build and I played around with grids and close proximity and new type.
